The driver’s structure


  1. Copy the driver’s folder into the desired directory
  2. Launch
    <Steam directory>/steamapps/common/SteamVR/bin/win64/vrpathreg.exe adddriver "<Driver directory>/antilatency"

How to use the driver

The driver adds support for the following device types in SteamVR:

  • Tracker (Antilatency tracker with any kind of sockets, besides Bracer);
  • Controller (Bracer)

The SteamVR system registers the device under the hardware serial number of the socket. Instead of the serial number, the device can be also registered under a “Tag” property if it is set. You can find the serial numbers of devices in the DeviceNetwork tab in AntilatencyService.
A tracker’s placement is searched by the name specified in the “Tag” property of the socket. If the property is not set or such a placement is not found, the standard placement will be set, using AntilatencyService.

How to use Bracer

A Bracer’s placement is set automatically depending on the “Tag” property of the socket. Therefore, you should set the “Tag” property in your Bracers:

  • LeftHand for the left hand
  • RightHand for the right hand

  1. Trigger click - push the sensor panel on the inner side of the palm
  2. System click - trigger click, holding your hand over your head and looking straight (works only after tracking replacement procedure)

Standard Steam VR tracking override

The standard tracking override is carried out in the TrackingOverrides section in <Steam directory>/config/steamvr.vrsettings file.


In this example, the driver creates the device with a serial number of “Head”. This device provides tracking for HMDs with the serial number LHR-979B50DB.
All Antilatency devices are registered in the SteamVR system under the hardware serial number of the socket, or under the “Tag” property if it set.

How to find out the serial number of a device?

The serial numbers of all the devices in the SteamVR system are available in the System Report. You can create it with the Create system report command in the SteamVR menu.

Besides the TrackingOverrides section, you should set the activateMultiplayerDrivers parameter and the enable parameter to true.
Also for stable operation, we recommend setting the value of devices/Antilatency/Head in the trackers section to TrackerRole_None for each device, which overrides the tracking.
